Foundation & Early Years
RB F1 Team, formerly known as Toro Rosso and AlphaTauri, was established in 2006 when Red Bull purchased the Minardi team. Created as Red Bull Racingās sister team and talent development program, the team has served as a proving ground for young drivers while maintaining its own competitive identity. Based in Faenza, Italy, the team combines Italian racing passion with Red Bullās innovative approach to motorsport.
Team History & Evolution
The team was established in 2006 as Toro Rosso after Red Bull purchased the Minardi team, which had competed in F1 since 1985. It served as Red Bull's junior team for developing young drivers. Key successes include Sebastian Vettel's win at Monza in 2008, the team's first victory. Rebranded to AlphaTauri in 2020 to promote Red Bull's fashion brand, it achieved another win with Pierre Gasly at Monza in 2020. In 2024, it became Visa Cash App RB (VCARB) for closer alignment with Red Bull, continuing its role in talent development with drivers like Max Verstappen having graduated from the program.
