πŸ›οΈFoundation & Early Years

The birth of a racing legend

Aston Martin's Formula 1 team has its roots in Jordan Grand Prix, founded by Eddie Jordan in 1991. After various ownership changes through Midland F1 and Spyker F1, the team became Force India in 2008. Following financial difficulties, it was acquired by Lawrence Stroll's consortium in 2018, becoming Racing Point, and finally transformed into Aston Martin F1 Team in 2021, marking the return of the iconic British luxury car manufacturer to Formula 1 after more than 60 years.

πŸ“šTeam History & Evolution

Decades of Formula 1 excellence and innovation

The team's journey began as Jordan Grand Prix in 1991, achieving immediate success with a fourth-place finish on their debut. Eddie Jordan's team became known for discovering and nurturing young talent.

As Force India from 2008 onwards, the team established itself as the best of the midfield, consistently achieving strong results with limited resources.

The transformation to Racing Point in 2019 and then Aston Martin in 2021 marked a new era of ambition. With Lawrence Stroll's investment and the recruitment of Sebastian Vettel, the team aimed to challenge for podiums and eventually championships.

In January 2025, as part of a restructuring following a disappointing 2024 season, Group CEO Andy Cowell assumed the role of Team Principal, replacing Mike Krack, who moved to Chief Trackside Officer. This restructure split the technical organization into trackside and factory operations, led respectively by Cowell and new Chief Technical Officer Enrico Cardile. Adrian Newey also joined in March 2025 as Managing Technical Partner.

The team is now focused on preparing for the 2026 regulations, the new Honda works power unit partnership, and deploying its significant infrastructure investment at the AMR Technology Campus. While results in 2025 remain inconsistent, the groundwork is being laid for future championship potential.
